Terms
Last updated 14 October 2026
1. Scope
These terms apply to the Leaf Viewer application (Leaf) and the website at leafviewer.app (the Website), both provided by Ontiqo Pty Ltd (ACN 701 340 418, ABN 38 701 340 418) of Daylesford, Victoria, Australia (Ontiqo). Leaf is proprietary software licensed to you by Ontiqo. It is not open source.
2. Licence
You may install and use Leaf on any computer you own or control, for as long as you like, for any purpose, including personal, academic and commercial use. You may read, open and copy your own documents with Leaf without restriction. Leaf claims no right over the files you open.
3. Price, and copies obtained free of charge
Leaf is priced at US$11.99 and is offered free of charge until 31 October 2026.
A copy obtained while Leaf is offered free of charge remains licensed to you free of charge, permanently, including updates. A price introduced later applies only to people who obtain Leaf after that time and is not applied retrospectively. This is a term of the licence. The Microsoft Store also records that you acquired Leaf and continues to offer it to you as free to use, whatever it later costs.
4. Refunds
If you paid for Leaf and it is not what you wanted, you may request a full refund by writing to [email protected] within 30 days of purchase. No reason is required and nothing needs to be proved. Where Leaf was bought through the Microsoft Store, the Store’s own refund process also applies. This undertaking is in addition to that process and to any right you have under consumer law.
5. Restrictions
You must not:
- sell, rent, lease, sublicense or redistribute Leaf or any part of it, modified or not, whether on its own or inside something else; or
- remove or alter the copyright notice, the third-party attribution, or any mark identifying Leaf as Leaf.
Nothing in this clause limits anything the law permits you to do regardless of the terms of a licence.
6. Third-party components
Leaf includes open-source components, each of which remains under its own licence. They are credited in full, with their terms, in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md file supplied with the application. Two carry obligations beyond attribution and are described there; one is Graphviz, used unmodified under the Eclipse Public License 2.0.
7. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Leaf is provided as is and as available, without warranty or condition of any kind. Ontiqo does not warrant that Leaf will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will render every file correctly.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ontiqo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill or business interruption. Ontiqo’s total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for Leaf in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or nothing if you paid nothing.
Leaf does not modify, save or transmit the documents it opens. You should nevertheless keep your own backups.
9. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under a law that cannot lawfully be excluded, and each clause above applies only to the extent that it does not do so.
For supplies to consumers in Australia, our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where those guarantees apply and the goods are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, our liability for failing to comply is limited, at our option, to resupplying the software or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
10. The Website
The Website provides information about Leaf and is not an offer to supply. Leaf is supplied through the Microsoft Store. The Website links to third-party websites, including the Microsoft Store; Ontiqo is not responsible for their content, availability or terms. The Website may be changed or withdrawn at any time.
11. General
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply. The authoritative text of the licence is the LICENSE file distributed with the application; clauses 2 to 9 state the same terms, arranged for reading.
